Where

The Conference will take place in Venice. Venice was chosen not only because of the city’s significant historical and cultural value, but also because of the vitality of the local networks and associations working on the issues of degrowth, solidarity economics and urban agriculture. We also have the backing of the City Council that is as well giving support to the initiative. Thanks also to Gianfranco Bettin (Assessor for the Environment and a well-known Italian sociologist) and Pierfrancesco Ghetti (Assessor for Strategic Planning). The University of Udine is also co-promoting the conference.

In particular, the sites identified for the work-shops and lectures of the Conference are the premises and classrooms of the University Institute of Architecture of Venice (IUAV) at the Tolentini, at the Ex Cotonificio Veneziano, and at the Malibran Theatre. You can see where the places of the Conference – and the parallel events – are  on this map.
